Digos City Tuesday 13 in the Philippines
 hubbardfamilymusic, posted 10/13/09 00:19:18

Hello everybody!

God has been so good! I’m sorry I haven’t been able to write for the last few days. The reason why is because we have been going non-stop and have had the opportunity to minister in so many different places and ways. I just want to mention a few of the experiences we have had and I want to try and describe to you all how beautiful the Filipino people are.

Our team has traveled to city churches, country churches, a high school, and an orphanage. One of our crowds was 800 strong. On some nights, the team prays for every single person in the church.  Our team has been amazing. Rodney and Kathy Moore have introduced us to their friends and shared their passion for the Lord and the Philippines with us. Meredith, their daughter, has blessed us and the Filipino people by her worship of God through dancing. Jerry & Linda Barnes carried two boxes of clothes across 9,000 miles for the precious orphans we met last night. I will never forget their faces as they watched the boxes being opened. It was like Christmas! We have spent time in the homes of missionaries who blessed us with their time, help, and stories (and who I hope to tell you more about later). We have eaten delicious Filipino food!

For all the New Life Baptist folks: Pastor Jones has been awesome. He has preached up to three sermons a day. Pastor Jones is a true man of God. He has fit into this environment flawlessly and is reaching out to everyone we meet with the love of Jesus.

Most of all, I have been touched by the Filipino people. They are unlike any people I have ever met. They can sing! They can dance! They are a very friendly warm people in general, so when you add the joy of the Lord Jesus Christ, you get some of the sweetest most worshipful people on the planet.

To the churches that have sent us here: Thank You! Our mission is only half over, and we feel that if we were to quit and go home today, this trip would still be a success. We are looking forward to seeing what else God will do! We cannot wait to get home and tell you all about it.

Keep us in your prayers as we travel to General Santos City where we will be involved in many meetings and services and ministry opportunities. We love and miss you all so much!

To Bruce and Sharon: we love you! Kiss Buster for us! J

Blessings,

Emmy

We are in the Philippines!!

Hello dear friends and family! We are safe and sound in the Philippines. We arrived in Manila at 11:15 pm (Philippine Time) on Wednesday evening. This morning we left Manila and arrived in Mindanao. Everybody is feeling well, although we are all very tired. Everyone is very excited!

We can't wait to put up some pictures! We will do that as soon as possible. We ministerd today (I can't believe that today was Thursday!) at an amazing church full of very passionate and excited people, most of them were very young. The worship music was amazing. We have been treated so kindly by everyone. There is a very sweet Spirit here, and I think I know Who it belongs too. :)

I have to go for now, but please keep us in your prayers. For all of Pastor Jones' family: He is doing so well! We are so glad that he is with us! He is already ministering to people one on one. We would never have been abe to put all our guitars back together today without him! We are taking good care of each other. I don't know what we woud do without him! He is the biggest blessing!!

I will have more to write tomorrow. I will do my best to update this with more information as soon as I can.

God bless ya'll!!

Emmy

Hello everybody!

I am writing this in the terminal at the DFW airport. We are waiting to board our 14 hr. flight to South Korea. By the time we are able to post this, we may be there already! God has blessed us with His favor. We went easily through security and etc. Pastor Jones got special treatment on his first flight; the pilot invited him up to the cockpit and gave him an autographed flight itinerary, not to mention he announced Pastor Jones name over the intercom and congratulated him for taking his first flight!

We are so excited to be on our way to the Philippines! Keep us in your prayers!

P.S.-

Hello! We had a very safe flight to South Korea and we are waiting in the airport for our flight to Manila. It is 7:10 pm on Wednesday the 7th here. That’s all I can say for now! We put some pictures up on our website if you want to see them. Everybody’s feeling well and ready to get to the Philippines!

Blessings!

August 09

Hello folks!

What happened to this summer? Where did it go? I’m sure kids all over the country are asking themselves these same questions as they head back to school this week. I am asking myself these questions today because I was amazed to discover that my last blog entry occurred… er, quite some time ago. I’m feeling a little sheepish about that, but at least this way I have a lot more to talk about! The last few months have been very busy for my family. We have been blessed with the opportunity of bringing our music ministry to many churches and gatherings. As I discover followers of Christ everywhere we go I am reminded that the church is not contained within one building. It is a living, breathing body of believers who just happen to meet in brick buildings, metal garages, basements, prisons, nursing homes, college campuses, living rooms, shacks, and bungalows all over this world. It is amazing to see how the love of Jesus forms a common denominator between people who have virtually nothing else in common! The love of Jesus crosses cultures, age brackets and language barriers! This is why I’m so excited to tell you about what the Lord has in store for my family in October of this year. The Hubbard Family has the opportunity to be a part of a mission trip to the beautiful country of the Philippines. We will be working with a wonderful ministry that has been serving the people of the Philippines for many years. In addition to visiting our Filipino Christian brothers and sisters, Lord willing, we will bring our music ministry to prisons, orphanages, and schools all over the Philippines. Please pray for the people of the Philippines. We understand that God is moving in this country. There are regions in the Philippines that are predominately Muslim. We are very excited because we will have the opportunity to go to one such area, Mindanao.  Please pray that the gospel of Jesus will be proclaimed in the cities and the rural areas, and that the Lord will make this mission trip fruitful. We will be updating the website, the blog, and our Facebook page ( look for “the Hubbard Family” on Facebook!) from the Philippines, so please check in with us from October 6th to the 20th. One more thing! If you are reading this and you would like to receive this blog as a quarterly email, please email your name and email address to :  emmylouD60@yahoo.comThank you so much for checking in with us!Blessings,Emmylou Hubbard
