Plowing up the soil of my soul

July 2, 2010: Isaiah 28:24.. Doth the plowman plow all day to sow?"

Plowing up the Soil of my Soul

What a month this has been for us. It has seemed from every turn that life has been against us and all those we love. This morning I was reminded by my devotions once again of that great verse in the bible that says… “All things work together for the good of those that love the Lord and are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28” I have wondered about this verse many times. Wondered how to break it down and figure out just exactly what the writer is trying to say to me. It seems that when trials come against us we crumble and begin to doubt our walk and relationship with our heavenly Father, when really we should cling so much closer to Him and hold ever tighter to His loving hand. That is when I realize that I don’t have to worry about my hold to His hand, because HE IS HOLDING MINE. His words assures me that “He will never leave me nor forsake me.” So, why do I worry? Why do I question His will? It is because in this human mind and life I am weak and I know my weakness all too well, but thru Christ and His love and mercy I am stronger then I ever knew I could be and if I will keep my eyes on Him and not on the surrounding circumstances my faith and trust will grow to know no bounds. So I must come to the conclusion that He is plowing up not only my soil, but the soil of my loved ones as well, preparing for a bountiful harvest to take place in our lives. Isaiah 28:24 says in abbreviation “Doth the Plowman plow all day to sow?” Yes of course he does, the good farmer prepares his ground before sowing that precious seed he has bought with which to reap a bountiful harvest. God is working in my life to plow up the soil and prepare in me and in my loved ones a place to plant seed that will yield a bountiful harvest of souls for the kingdom and workers for the fields. He is a perfect God and King and He does all things well. I only need to trust and yield my life to Him completely for Him to use me to harvest that field of souls. An excerpt from my reading this morning says, “Oh that we might always catch the vision of an abundant harvest, when the great Master Plowman comes, as He often does, and furrows thru our very souls, uprooting and turning under that which we thought most fair, and leaving for our tortured gaze only the bare and the unbeautiful. Why should I start or be afraid at the plow of my Lord, that maketh the deep furrows on my soul? I know He is no idle husbandman, He has purposed a bountiful crop”. So today I will purpose in my heart to trust Him with all things. Yes even the dear friend with 4th stage lung cancer, and the one needing 3 organ transplants, and the loved one with Alzheimers, and so many more, even down to what is now the most insignificant of them all, the flood in my home. Oh how some things seem to wane in the shadow of the real troubles, and under His gaze. I love you Lord for reminding me once again of your complete and total awareness of all these things and Your sure resolve to work all things for my good and the good of those I care so much for.

my daily renew

you may be surprised about this blog, well let me enlighten you. i wrote a song last year called my daily renew and it deals with the fact that we need to do a daily chat with our lord and his word. the bible tells us that we must keep our minds on things that are good, that are pure, and that are holy unto the lord, and that we will answer to every act of folly, and idle words, meaning of no value. the lord is not saying that we can't enjoy our life and have fun, just have fun with god in mind first. the first thing in the morning we need to be thankful for a sound mind and all body parts that are still working well. many do not have sight, nor can they speak or hear . in everything give thanks unto god for this is the will of the father. remember only god alone knows the next move, and we have no promise of another day. so whatever you do each day be certain that you have the right motive for doing it.

more later on my daily renew feel free to reply buddy

Studying God's Word

June 22, 2010 2 Timothy 2:15
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

This was my devotion for today from Charles Spurgeon's, Strengthen My Spirit.
Spurgeon puts it like this: "The diligent reading of the Word of God with the strong resolve to get at its meaning often produces spiritual life. We are begotten by the Word of God: It is the instrumental means of regeneration. Therefore love your Bible. Keep close to our Bible. You who are seeking the Lord, your first business is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ; but while you are yet in darkness and in gloom, love your Bible and search it. Take it to bed with you, and when you wake up in the morning, if it is too early to go downstairs and disturb the house, get half an hour of reading upstairs. Say, "Lord, guide me to that text which shall bless me. Help me to understand how I, a poor sinner, can be reconciled to You." Oh, cling to scripture. it is the silken clue that will lead you to Him. Cling to Christ and He will speak to you thru His word. Follow it's leadings faithfully.
When you have received regeneration and a new life, keep on reading because it will comfort you. You will see more of what the Lord has done for you. You will learn that you are redeemed, adopted, saved, sanctified. Half the errors in the world spring from people not reading their Bibles."

As I thought on this this morning, I had to reflect back on how in the past and even now the Bible has, and still does, speak to me in so many ways. Revealing to me just what my heavenly Father is like and how much He truly loves me. I can honestly say no matter how many times I have read my Bible, over and over, it has spoken to me in a new and special way. It seems to be a new book with every reading. I have received strength for a difficult time or journey, I have received healing for physical sickness and emotional hurts. It has been my refuge in times of storm, and it has been my hiding place, it has also been my encouragement to continue this walk with my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. My prayer for all my friends is that you will become familiar with your Bible. Read it daily, get a NIV if need be or a NKJV so that it will be easier for you to understand. Make it a part of your daily life, (as the body needs food so does your spirit need that food from heaven that is in the Word of God,) and I guarantee to you that you will find Jesus and all that you are looking for in this life and the life that is sure to come, in those pages.

Group Bio

BIO

A short while back a group began something which over the next few years will build from a dream into a national phenomenon. Often imitated; never duplicated, Gold Harbor, a combination of three unique vocal stylists has taken the previously mundane Southern Gospel genre and brought it full-force into the 21st century. Their story is like no other, and they create a sound and impression like no one else! Armed with inspiring songs of worship and powerful vocals that are unmatched, this group has broken out of the “box.”

J.R. Richards - MGR/Owner/Baritone

J.R. Richards, wonderful Mom influenced him because as a young teen, well into her twenties, traveled and sang under brush arbors and to every nook and cranny of Alabama and West Florida. She was in a trio and played guitar. Times were hard when she married J.R.’s Dad and had to stop traveling to raise two boys. J.R.’s brother passed away at age six but his Mother’s faith never wavered as she gained new inspiration in showing J.R. the ropes. He was literally carried to concerts where groups like the Sunshine Boys, Sons of Song, Statesmen, Blackwood Brothers, Homeland Harmony, etc. were performing. She was always an encouragement to him and sent him to the Stamps School of Music in 1967 where he met Linda Robinson who brought him to Nashville and got him immediately on TV along with the Rebels QT, Smitty Gatlin Trio and others. JR was active even way back then in back up work J.R. spent most of his years behind the scenes in backup work and production. He was most influenced in the studio by James,Ronnie and Larry Goss (The Goss Brothers). Over the years he has worked with some of the greats in gospel music, both known and unknown. Greats like, The Florida Boys and the Sentinels,The Challengers,Masters QT,The Fowlers,Wally Fowler and his own groups besides helping out groups like The Dixie Echoes when Dale Shelnut was at the helm. JR has been a part of The Christ Church Choir at Bill Gaither concerts when ever he was available. JR’s Television experience goes from the Skylite Cavalcade to the Gospel Singing Jubilee to The PTL club and many more. Now once again because of his Mother’s leading, her last day’s wishes, and a burning urgency to be a witness to the lost, JR is launching what he feels to be one of the most versatile, “barn burner” of groups out there today. He had always told his Mother when he got ready to sing and travel again it would have to be with very special people with more than normal talent. His hope and prayer is that you are able to see and hear, if only from this website, the very special bond that people can have from the beginning.

David Folenius-Lead Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, July 31, 1972, David is the second son to Father, Rev. Robert Ray

Folenius, and Mother, Wanda Sue Folenius. David was born into a Christian home, his Dad has been a

Pastor now for over 40 years. Some of David’s fondest childhood memories involve his church family,

and friends in some way, shape, or form. David’s roots in Southern gospel music runs deep, considering

his Mom, and Dad happened to be huge Southern gospel fans, his Father actually proposed to his Mother

at a Happy Goodman’s concert, At the Taft auditorium in Cincinnati. While other kids were buying the

latest rock, country, and pop albums, David was going through mom, and, Dads vast Southern gospel record collection, such as the Blackwood Brothers, Statesmen, the Stamps, Happy Goodman’s, and the

Hinson’s. David now lives in Nashville Tn. With his loving wife, Heather, and kids, Ashley 15, Saul

14, Hannah 11, Josh4, and Caleb 15 months. David surrendered his life to the lord, Feb. 14, 1984.

David’s desire is to use his talents to reach the masses for Jesus Christ.

Professional – David began his singing career at the ripe old age of 15 years old when he joined a

regional quartet from Dayton Ohio. For the next several years, David would be privileged to sing with

some of Ohio, and Kentucky’s finest regional Quartets, such as The Worley Quartet, Stedfast, and the

Sons of Grace. While working with these groups, David began to enhance his God given talent, and

studied voice privately with one of Southern gospel music’s well known, and respected voice teachers,

Dr. Charles Novell. In September of 05, David ventured in to his first full-time opportunity singing lead

for the Mystery men Quartet from Nashville Tn. In March of 09 David went to work singing for

Angelina Mckeithen and route 77, represented by Crossroads music Group, and booked by the Becky

Simmons Agency. In September of 09, David began a solo career, and is working currently, for D.J.S.

Music Group Nashville, engineering, and background vocals when needed. David is truly an amazing

artist, his range allows him to sing lead, tenor, and baritone. He is a stylist, allowing him to blend with

anyone, and he hears parts immediately. More importantly, David loves the Lord with all his heart, and

there is truly an anointing on his life. This shines through when sings, because you will not only be

entertained, you will be moved, touched, and inspired and now David has moved into an arena where

his true talents can be cultured and excelled to higher ground. Gold Harbor from Hendersonville,TN is

going to let this marvelous talent move them to the next level. Honoring Jesus is Davids main goal. He

is a loving father and husband and he knows that the ministry of Gold Harbor is rich in evangelism and

concert ministry and by joining them in harmony will let him see the lost saved and the downhearted

renewed so they too can show others that are lost the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ..

Michelle Knight-Alto Michelle started singing in churches when she was only six years old.

I was reading my bible the other morning during my daily devotions. I am reading the major and minor prophets right now and so much is relevant for today. While I was reading I began to think about God's soon return to bring His children home. I have a tendency to let things I see happening in this world today cause me to be anxious and at times angry. But as I was reading the Lord brought to my memory the verse that says in Luke 21:28 "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (American King James Version) I began to thank the Lord for reminding me that these things have to be for the Son of God to return for His bride..and as I was rejoicing and praying I felt like I could hear Gabriel practicing his trumpet call for the day when he blows that final trumpet blast to call us home to be with the Lord forever. I felt as if I could hear the ones gone before us rejoicing around the throne of God with the angels. So I have written a new song titled, OH Can't You Hear the Music. I can't wait to get into the studio and record it as it has blessed me already, so I am sure it will bless you all as well. I write these things to encourage the children of God to remember that all these things must come to pass in order for the Lord to return. So dear child, lift up your head and rejoice for your redemption draweth nigh.... OH CAN'T YOU HEAR THE MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll Stand Up and Say So

Hi all!
I think that it is very important for Christians to be involved in politics! Madeline Murray O'Hare was responsible for taking prayer out of public schools with just a few thousand names on a petition. Where were the Christians when THAT happened? How about the abortion issue? The christian voter sat in apathy as lawmakers legalized the murder of unborn children. As a Christian music artist and minister, I see this apathy weekly as I travel across America in churches of all denominations as well as non-denominations.
Liberal judges are attempting to legislate from the bench and impose their liberal humanistic views and ideals on the unsuspecting American public. The Democratic party has taken on a very scary persona, as they have aligned themselves with radical groups like "moveon.org" and "People for the American Way". It is no longer the Christian's duty to just be aware of a candidate's stand on abortion and homosexual rights. We need to know where they stand on important issues like, homeland security, the war on terror and the protection of our precious constitutional rights. Many Pastors are under the assumption that they can not talk about the issues that we face here in America. Many are afraid that they will loose their 501-c3 "non-profit status" if they speak out against these ideals that the liberal left is trying to impose on the american people.
It is time for the "Church" namely the body of Christ to stand up and let her voice be heard. This will only have significance if we Christians show up at the polls and vote. Even though the Republican party has moved off point on many key issues, they are by far the best hope for a political solution. I would rather see a Republican party that stood for the ideals of a conservative like Ronald Reagan, but we as Christians have to understand that we cannot throw the baby out with the bath-water. We have to show a unified front and keep the all so important control of the House as well as the Senate. I urge everyone who reads this post to make the RIGHT decision and support the conservative agenda. As liberals franticly chip away at our individual freedoms, we must see them for who they are. In the near future it could be the loss of your religious, parental, and other freedoms that we hold so dear. As for me.....I'll stand up and say so!
Chuck Day

Praising God

Praising God that our song "A Blessing's On the Way" is still at # 1 for a month now and giving people hope through Christ and Christ alone.

Thank you all so much for continuing to play, download and listen to A Blessing’s On the Way. And to the DJ’s that have downloaded and played it thank you for helping to get out the message that there is hope Found only in a personal relationship with Christ Jesus.

We believe that God is using the message in this song to encourage and uplift people in TODAY's times.

There is so much STUFF that we are all going through today and we sometimes wonder how we will get through it. We are here to tell you through this song that God is the only way we will make it through. We understand that sometimes things seem overwhelming but remember as born again Children of the Most High God we WILL make it through.

The trials we go through only strengthen our faith in God just as Fire purifies gold so the fiery trials we go through purify our faith in Christ.

So remember, hang on child, because A Blessing's on the Way.

Blessings to you all.

Chrissy, George, Joe and Steve

Victorious

Know that which you take, will take you!

"This applies to that which you take in physically, mentally, emotionally, as well as spiritually. Like the body, our belief system becomes healthy or infected by that which we mentally receive. Therefore, for good health to the body, soul, and spirit, we should guard carefully what we take into the mouth, the mind, the emotion, and, mostimportantly the spirit. Adam was taken by that which he took. You will be taken by that which you take. Whatever you extend the arm to, whatever you open the mind to, whatever you take into your spirit will take you. What are you willing to be taken by?
" Above excerpt from; "Dividing Asunder The Invisible Inner Self" by Barbara S. Williams ( who is also a friend of ours from Shelbyville, TN & you may find on FB)
Phil 4:3...and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life. 4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And thepeace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Thankful for this promise! However it is conditional. Very much comparable to the whole armor of God that we, shouldn't leave home without.
Wess

Many artist have asked me over time, how do you get your music out to radio? How do you get your music heard? Without a radio comp and a good promoter it is viturally impossible. I would like to encourage you to take advantage of the SGMDIGITAL Download Store being offered. It is an opportunity for you to get your single into hands of DJ's. Please understand, that there is never a guarantee, that the DJ's will download your music, but, you are being given that opportunity and what better opportunity could you be offered?

God wants you to prosper, be in health, even as your soul prosperith. So, allow yourself that opportunity. You never know whos life your music is going to touch.

God Bless you all and keep working for his kingdom,

Ron

Such A Beautiful Day

Today as I am riding down the interstate, heading toward Panama City, FL, I am looking out over the beautiful landscape our lord has created. I can't help but think of the song "What A Beautiful Day For the Lord to Come Again." I get excited when I think about his return. Everything he has created here is so marvelous and so beautiful, but it does not compare to all the beauty and glory that awaits for us, as his children, in heaven.

I pray each of you have a blessed weekend and may God pour out his spirit upon you all.

Thank you for stopping by and listening....

God Bless,

Ron Brewer
